A metal smith all my adult life, I’ve earned Jeweler's Certificates from the Santa Rosa Junior College and Revere Jeweler's Academy. I am a Certified PMC Artisan as well as having completed a year long accreditation program with Hadar Jacobson Metal Clay Techniques.
I’ve studied many metalsmithing disciplines at the Mendocino Art Center, the Richmond Art Center, the Arrowmont School of the Arts, TN, and with many individuals including Jim Binion, Yvonne Giambrone Martin, Jack de Silva, Florence Resnikoff, Linda Weis along with many other Jewelry Artisans.
In the ever changing world of Metal Clay, I've earned my Metal Clay Certifications with Senior Instructors Sherry Fotopoulos and Sherry Viktora. In my quest for more knowledge and technique I worked with many Metal Clay instructors including Linda Kline, Holly Gage, Barbara Becker Simon, Lisa Barth, Terry Kovalchik, Wanaree Tanner, Carole Wood, Leslie Tieke, and of course Hadar Jacobson. I continue to take as many workshops as time and money allow.
My work has been included in two of Hadar Jacobson's Metal Clay Handbooks and in the 2010, 2011, and 2012 "PMC Guild Annual: Exceptional Work in Metal Clay".
Recently I was honored to be a recipient of the the 2019 Creative Sonoma Recovery Grant. Because of the grant and the support of my wonderful community, I created a new line of jewelry using bits of china that I originally recovered from the ashes of my home and studio after the North Bay Fires in 2017. I am now scouring antique stores and thrift shops finding wonderful pieces of china and porcelain to add to the collection. This line includes my Silver Jewelry as well as my Kintsugi inspired Jewelry using Japanese Urishi lacquer to wrap the beautiful shards of china and porcelain in a gold or silver frame.
My work is always evolving. I love the challenge of working out new ideas and designs!
